Applicants
A claim can have more than one applicant. One must be chosen as the “primary applicant” who will speak for all the applicants during the CRT process. All the applicants must give permission to be added to the claim.
Respondents
A claim can have more than one respondent. Each one must respond separately to the claim.
Representatives
A representative officially speaks for you during the CRT process. They also submit evidence for you and other information, and make agreements for you.
A representative is usually a lawyer, family member or friend. Learn more about representatives.
What if an applicant or respondent is a strata, business, society, or other organization?
If a participant is a strata, business, society, or other organization, they must choose a contact person for the claim. This is different than having a representative. Learn more about having a contact person.
