CRT Releases Its Accessibility Plan

The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) is pleased to share its Accessibility Plan, a new guide to identify, remove, and prevent barriers for people with disabilities who use our services.

The plan was developed under the Accessible British Columbia Act, which requires public sector organizations to take a proactive approach to accessibility. At the CRT, accessibility is central to our mandate to provide dispute resolution services that are fair, flexible, and usable by everyone.

The CRT Accessibility Committee

Our Accessibility Plan was shaped by the CRT Accessibility Committee, made up of CRT staff and tribunal members with lived and learned experience in accessibility. The committee reflects the diversity of British Columbians, including people with disabilities. Their perspectives helped us identify meaningful, practical ways to improve access to our services.

Our Accessibility Plan

The plan focuses on 4 key areas:

  • Our digital environment, including our website, online tools, and compatibility with assistive technologies
  • Information and communications, with a commitment to plain language and accessible formats
  • Delivery of services, including online, phone, mail, and in‑person support through Service BC
  • Monitoring and evaluation, to track progress and guide continuous improvement

This is our first accessibility plan, and it’s an important starting point. We will report on our progress publicly and plan to update the plan every 3 years.
