The Civil Resolution Tribunal anonymously surveys people who have gone through the tribunal process. We use this feedback to improve the way we serve the public. We report the results every month on this blog.
Note: The number of disputes closed in October is about 55% lower than usual. Many Civil Resolution Tribunal staff are members of the BC General Employees’ Union (BCGEU). The CRT’s operations were affected by strike action that began on September 22, 2025. The CRT’s unionized staff returned to work on October 27, 2025. The CRT is also affected by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) strike. To learn more, see our blog post CRT Operational Update.
We had 30 responses to our participant survey in October 2025. We’re pleased to report that participant satisfaction remains strong in all areas except timely resolution. We’re taking measures to address a high volume of claims and improve timeliness in all areas of the dispute resolution process.
Selected comments on what participants liked about their experience with the CRT:
- Ease of use.
- [Staff were] very helpful and went the extra mile to explain things.
- Fairness.
- Provided resolution to a longstanding strata conflict.
- Every step of the process, verbal or written… when I asked to explain it was in layman’s terms.
Selected comments on what the CRT could have done to improve their experience:
- Quicker process time.
- Strive to explain all the steps and processes in very simple sentences and words.
- Being short-staffed was an issue in getting my claim resolved in a timely manner.
