The CRT is pleased to announce the appointment of our new Chair, Shelley Lopez.
Shelley has been the CRT’s Vice Chair, Small Claims since 2017. In 2023, she also took on the work of Vice Chair, Intimate Images. She has been the acting Chair since the position became vacant in December 2023.
Since her call to the bar of British Columbia in 2000, Shelley has worked in a number of positions in the private and public sectors. She began her career in private practice as a lawyer, focusing on personal injury claims. She then worked for 5 years as a staff lawyer with the Law Society of BC, after which she worked from 2011 to 2017 as a Vice Chair with the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal.
Shelley holds a B.A. (Honours) in Philosophy and a law degree from the University of British Columbia.
